Montearenas II (Autopista A-6), Ponferrada, 20.9.1937

Bernabé González Cañas, 29, fue fusilado y enterrado en una fosa común. Hay 60 asesinados documentados en el paraje de Montearenas desde 1936 pero puede haber más de 200. Varias fosas comunes se perdieron por la construcción de la autopista A-6, la ampliación de la Nacional-VI y un polígono industrial. Es muy habitual encontrar restos humanos en la construcción, pero los operadores suelen hacerlos desaparecer para que no se pare la obra.

Bernabé González Cañas, 29, was shot and buried in a mass grave. There are 60 documented murders in the Montearenas area since 1936 but there may be more than 200. Several mass graves were lost due to the construction of the A-6 motorway, the expansion of the National-VI and an industrial estate. It is very common to find human remains in the construction, however the operators usually make them disappear so that the construction work is not stopped.
